The creator of The West Wing isn't done... he has a new series, and people are already talking about it. As most of you know, Emmy Award-winning executive producer/writer Aaron Sorkin and Emmy Award-winning executive producer/director Thomas Schlamme, both recent graduates of The West Wing, have cooked up what should prove to be a superb take on the travails of producing a popular, late-night comedy sketch show. That show -- "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."
Backstage politics, romance and the delicate balance between creative talent, larger-than-life personalities and kooky network executives collide in an overcharged, message saturated world.
Starring Amanda Peet as Jordan McDeere, a savvy network entertainment chief who inherits a massive public relations disaster on the series, along with Matthew Perry as Matt Albie and Bradley Whitford as Danny Tripp, the brilliant creative writing team dragged in to revive the troubled comedy TV show.
The sketch comedy "show within the show" stars Harriet Hayes (Sarah Paulson), Simon Stiles (D.L. Hughley) and Tom Jeter (Nathan Corddry), their cool-headed director, Cal Shanley (Timothy Busfield) and network honcho Jack Rudolph (Steven Weber).
The series is, of course, a production of Warner Bros. Television.
